Kate Murtaugh

For nearly two decades, I've had the privilege of planning and designing events for a diverse clientele, spanning high-profile celebrities, international music festivals, Boston-based magazines, and prominent corporations and non-profits.

My deep-rooted experience in event planning (starting when I was just 15), love for design, and watching my parents' entrepreneurial journey led me to establish Kate Murtaugh Events & Design in 2015, bringing over 250 celebrations to life at some of the world's most iconic venues and private estates. Since then, our award-winning work has been recognized and spotted regularly in publications such as Town & Country, The New York Times, BRIDES, and People Magazine, to name a few.

I love my job because it allows me to connect with amazing clients and creative vendors. Bringing some of life's most memorable moments to life is truly rewarding, and I feel so fortunate to be a part of it all. It's an honor to be a part of such special moments, and I feel incredibly grateful to be able to do what I love every day.

I'm an old soul, married to my college sweetheart, Patrick. Our wedding day remains one of the most magical days of my life. We have three children and live in a cozy home by the sea on Boston's South Shore. We spend our summers living on the coast in Rhode Island in the house where I grew up. I am inspired by traveling and exploring the world, the incredible artistry behind intricate textiles, the transformative power of interior design, the simple yet profound beauty of blooming flowers, the unique charm of life in New England, and the intricate details that make beautiful design a transformative experience.

At our core, we are dedicated to giving back to our local community through event planning and production.

Each season, we dedicate time and resources to partner with various non-profit organizations and charities to plan and design events specific to their philanthropic causes, including A Place to Rise's annual Merry Market and #withlovefromDuxbury.

Annually, we partner with Beach Plum Floral Design and Lucky Finn Café to plan and design Harbor Blooms, a live floral installation and community event in Scituate, MA. This event features over 4,000 live flowers built into the façade of the historic building, with proceeds benefiting the missions of various non-profit organizations in the greater Boston area. Previous beneficiaries have included Empower, A Place to Rise, Hope Floats, and Alice's House.

Lauren Quinn

Lauren entered the wedding planning world as an intern for KMED while still in college. With a deep passion for design, planning, and organization, she can execute events with an intentional vision from beginning to end. Lauren is a natural leader and problem solver, which allows her to pivot quickly to success and seamlessly push past roadblocks. After six years of assisting and planning almost 100 weddings, she has found no greater joy than seeing months (sometimes years) of hard work turn into the most beautiful day filled with awe, love, and pure happiness. Lauren graduated from Quinnipiac University with a degree in Marketing and International Business.

Samantha Mastrangelo

A planner by nature with a passion for design, Samantha loves to help coordinate the perfect day that is a true reflection of every couple. She values honesty and organization and appreciates the little details. Samantha finds joy in creating unforgettable moments for her clients and seeing their day come to life. She has a corporate planning and fashion merchandising background, allowing her to creatively find solutions, be flexible, stay organized, and ensure a stress-free, positive planning experience. She graduated from Stonehill College, where she studied Psychology and Business.


Event Producer

Tracy Arguelles

As a senior production team member, Tracy epitomizes professionalism, warmth, and a strong work ethic. As a vital part of our team for over five years, she provides unparalleled support to our clients on event days. Tracy’s diverse background in the restaurant industry, interior design, and full-time career as an elementary educator brings a unique and invaluable perspective to our team. Her resilience, creativity, and patience make her indispensable to each wedding she produces. Tracy graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Textiles, Merchandising, and Design and holds a Master's in Education from Sacred Heart University.
